MOQ - Minimum Order Quantity for Canvas bags
MOQ means what we can produce minimum. Prices are always different for MOQ and larger quantities.
We can produce as minimum as:
- 5000 Bags in Natural Color
- 6000 Bags in Customized Pantone Color
However, designing and quality affect the MOQ. For some higher quality bags, we can produce even 1000 pieces.
Production and Shipping both have their economically viable minimum quantity limits. Read below for more details
Production limitations:
Customization and personalization always increase the MOQ. Each production step has its own wastage and minimum quantity. Increasing the processes will increase the MOQ.
Bags with natural color fabrics have the lowest MOQ or you can say, without an MOQ. In natural color bags without any personalization, we can produce even 100 pieces without an extra cost.
Dyeing needs almost minimum 2000 meters (For understanding, that quantity of fabric translates into 6000-8000 regular tote bags of size 38 x 42 cm). Dyeing less than this quantity results in extra wastage, hence increasing the cost. An economical alternative is to go for available colors. Please note, not all the colors in all the fabrics are available all the time.
Regular accessories (Zippers, Sliders, Buttons, Elastics, Cords etc) are available all the time and don’t need a minimum quantity. However, for customized accessories, or unique accessories, a mold cost and wastage cost will increase the price in case of small quantities.
With screen printing and digital printing, we can do lowest possible quantities (around 1000 bags per design) however, cost of 1000 and 10000 pieces will always be different. Moreover, number of colors will always increase the set-up cost of screen printing. You have to divide the initial cost on the total number of pieces per design. Large quantities are more feasible with rotary screen printing, again, the set up / mold cost is high for rotary machine. Each color needs an additional screen so high number of colors is almost impossible in screen printing for small quantities. Minimum quantity that can be printed on Rotary machine is 2000 Meters (in case of 1-2 colors) (For understanding, that quantity of fabric translates into 6000-8000 regular tote bags of size 38 x 42 cm).
An order is a job, whether it is of 2000 bags or 200000 bags. The same number of managing persons are assigned for any quantity; number of workers change with quantity. That is why, smaller quantities cost higher when we calculate the consumed time of our highly experienced team members.
Shipping limitations:
During bulk shipping of export shipments, you have to do custom clearance and the related documentation that involves several govt departments. Port charges and shipping line charges for a shipment (regardless of small or large) also apply. Custom clearance agents and forwarders have their per shipment charges as well. You can ship even a single piece of any product but you have to charge all the occurring cost to that single piece. With the increasing number of articles per shipment, the shipping costs decreases. For an idea, 220 USD is the minimum cost for a shipment of 1-2000 pieces.
Air shipping involves lesser processes and lesser costs. For an idea, 60 USD is the minimum cost for a shipment of 1-2000 pieces.
Besides production and shipping, our own involved time and overheads are an important aspect to consider. Even the smallest order is assigned to a team and they do all the relevant documentation for even samples.
However, in today’s fast-moving world, every brand wants to offer higher number of options/designs to their customers. They also want to change the designs and bring new designs as soon as possible. We have developed systems to manage small quantities per design.
